Meet Dr. Chau Nguyen

Dear patients,
Welcome! On this website, you’ll find the information you need to explore your options in finding health and healing through osteopathic manipulative medicine and medical acupuncture.  Both of these treatment modalities offer a wide range of preventative and therapeutic health benefits, with minimal to no side effects.

Lots of patients seek help when they are experiencing symptoms, but the best way to care for your health is to engage in the prevention of illnesses.  We’re all familiar with the idea of taking our car into the shop to see a mechanic for “maintenance” long before there’s a problem.  Our bodies require the same kind of maintenance, or they too run the risk of breaking down.

Illnesses arise when our bodies fail to function properly. In order for the body to heal itself, it must have the proper structure, or alignment, and be free of restrictions that impede function.  Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) can be used alone, or with acupuncture, to aid your body in healing itself and maintaining proper function.

OMT can be safely done on patients of all ages, including newborns.  In fact, studies have shown that only about 15% of newborns are able to recover from the trauma that comes from the force exerted on the baby’s body by uterine contractions, the birthing process, and assistive birth devices like forceps.  OMT is especially beneficial to newborns to help in this recovery.

Children and adults as well often do not fully recover from traumatic events like falls, sport injuries, sprains, fractures, concussions, or car accidents.  Traumas like this exert a force that puts a strain on the body’s tissues, creating restrictions and misalignment. Altered structure causes impaired function, so when your body is misaligned, it’s not able to heal itself as well as it should.
In addition to faster and better healing from trauma, many studies also show that OMT and acupuncture help people recover faster from illnesses.

I also often collaborate with other practitioners to provide you a comprehensive care in body, mind and spirit.  So, whether you are currently in “maintenance mode” or working to recover from an illness or trauma, I look forward to partnering with you in your care so that you can lead your best and healthiest life!
Warmest regards,
Chau Nguyen, DO
